Pitchers with thoracic outlet syndrome seem to be all the rage for bidding this year.

With this year's inflated bidding rates in consideration, and the fact I was originally targeting him; Brett Lawrie gets my SOFA vote (steal of free agency)

I think getting Dunn for $1.5 mil was a heck of a steal. Even Volquez for $3.5 mil even though I had to go 4-yrs.

It's obviously my impressive Wily Mo Pena signing guys. How could you sleep on Wily Mo?!
In all seriousness though the price on Thames did get pushed up, but when you look at the prices for Reddick, Beltran and Kemp even the lesser guys like Rajai Davis and Revere I don't feel too bad about getting him where I did. Especially knowing that he's going to play and add Position eligibility.

It's really amazing that Brandon Crawford was a 23rd hour bid away from going to the Dodgers for 4 years @ 4.5 mill. He's now at 4 years @ 13 mill.
There are steals sometimes if you get lucky! Not there!

Redemption! I finally wind up on the good side. Hahaha. "Lawrie is going for 4.5M? Pffft. I'll grab Josh Harrison for waaaay cheaper" I said to myself.

Just a heads up that this bid by Reds on Denard Span is invalid because the prior bid was for $3.51 total. At this point it shouldnt matter -
3 years @ $1.2m= $3.6m (2020)
"All bids must raise the total value of the contract by at least $100,000"

Now that FA is winding down, who do you think....
1. got the best deal on a player 2. gave the craziest contract 3. most improved their team

Kind hard to find a "best deal." We all probably paid too much.. Alonso 3 yrs @ 7 (if last year was for real), Smyly 4 @ 3.5, or whichever cheapish reliever becomes a surprise closer could be good.
There are ton of options for craziest contract. 4 yrs @ 8 for Ian Kinsler, 4 yrs @ 9 for Brett Gardner, and 4 yrs @ 8.25 for Matt Moore all surprised me. My Garrett Richards 4 @ 9.5 could blow up pretty easily. The runaway winner for craziest in my mind is still going on though.
KC and MIL look like they added a lot of talent. Not cheap but good talent nonetheless.

My humble observations: Best Deal: SS Jose Iglesias $2,250,000 (2021) CHC (a functional player at a good price) Craziest Contract: Jenrry Mejia @ "4" years (could be a great grab, but will he play, and if so, how well?) Most improved their team: Atlanta did a nice job, shoring up their pitching.
Being my 2nd year in the league, free-agency is brutal. Inflated salaries, and slim pickings. Good luck to all!

There have been some pretty crazy contracts this offseason but wherever Charlie Morton lands will be the craziest. Currently going for 4 years 11.5M on a 34 year old who will give you 150 Innings max. No thanks.
