I think it would be more fun if trading was open through the duration of the FYPD. Any appetite to move the FYPD draft or even the trade deadline again? Would be nice to be able to trade back in if you have a guy who falls

Can we ditch the “Free Agent acquisitions must be subjected to Waivers if the owner wants to move them to Paid Minors during the offseason” rule? With a 24-hour bid clock and salary cap, I fail to see the rule’s relevance.

In my opinion, the rule is in place to prevent a team from loading up on players at/close to the minimum salary and stocking them in their paid minors. 24 hour clock means that things move quickly and some GMs might not be able to jump on for the first day or so.
If a GM wants to try and stock up on players, having to go through waivers to get them to paid minors gives other GMs a bit more of a shot at a player or two.
Free Agency is a gamble, waivers are a gamble. If you want to sign a player, you should be prepared to have them on your roster, if you want to sneak them into paid minors, you should be prepared to potentially lose them.

Don't sign a guy you don't intend to put on your 26. Rule clearly states FA must be on roster or go thru normal in-season moves. Rule is not going to change.

I've won and lost plenty on the waiver wire. And, I wasn't arguing if rule exists, Joey. I am just debating its relevance during the offseason.
