Just a reminder if you see something you want to discuss or possibly changed this is the time to do before we really get into the off-season stuff and really start grinding it out for the 2014 season.

A question about one of the scoring categories. In the rules it lists OBP as a cat. Fantrax last year had us using OPS instead. Just wondering which one will be used and if any other possible categories will be added this year.

I believe we switched to OPS last year and will be sticking with that. We are going to review the rules and see what changes are needed. This is just one of what I expect to be several that need fixed/updated.
If anyone else sees anything else let us know.

New rule suggestion -
Tanking - $100 fine
Not really, but some teams' Operation Shutdown is so obvious. Consider that right now Ryan Braun, Jay Bruce, Josh Hamilton, David Freese, Mike Minor, Hisashi Iwakuma, and Hyun Jin Ryu are on the bench or (erroneous) DL. I'm not calling anyone out, but what's the point? To continually get a top 3 pick in fantasy? C'mon don't you want to win? I'm sure it just drives me nuts because the NL East is full of 5 active managers while other divisions are tankalicious. Rant over. NL East 4 life.

As a suggestion. TAB sites obvious tanking to an owner.. 1st time - warning 2nd time - owner loses Dispersal Draft pick 3rd time - owner loses 3rd round FYPD pick, and so on
That would end the practice,,, or chase owners out of the league for better or worse. Not looking to find more work for TABs, just a solution suggestion

Rule Discussion For 2016
I realize this is a volunteer-operated league; and all of the work the TAB puts into this league is admirable and appreciated.
With that in mind, I hope in the near future we can address the issue of full roster/lineup efforts on Fantrax in some way. As you know, there are owners in this league who knowingly and willingly place no importance, or even sense of obligation, of filling out a full squad on Fantrax. It isn’t something that should be contemplated for penalties, as it should be reasonably assumed that if someone joined a league of this nature, they would be interested in competing and placing a value on the integrity of a MLB roster. That is not the case.
It appears everyone loves the amateur draft. Can we strip draft picks from GM’s who show no interest or sense of obligation to fill out a Fantrax lineup? I would guess some solutions have been bantered around by TAB in the past.
Again, I realize this would be tricky and time consuming to enforce. I just wanted to let you know this owner supports a change of some sort. I’m would think other owners might feel the same way. I’m not leaving the league, but I can see how others get disinterested.
Sorry, I had to vent.

Topic: Players on rookie contact ($300,000) Any player with three to six years of MLB service time, who is not on Active Roster or Paid Minors, is subject to Waiver Claim. If a different owner puts in a claim, the current owner has 48 hours to pull that player back, and then must place the player on Active Roster or Paid Minors.
Example: • Joe Schmo exceeds rookie limits in 2012, thus making his rookie deal 300,000 (2017) • This slots Joe in the 4th year of his rookie contract. • Joe has never been called up to the BIGS club and not on payroll • A different owner can make a claim and assume the rookie deal. • The original owner has 48 hours to “pull him back” once the claim is made, but must add him to payroll; either Paid Minors or Active Roster.
Of course, ownerless teams would be exempt from this waiver policy.

i don't believe this rule should be viewed as "competitive bidding" based on record like traditional waivers. First come, first serve.

110% against this. I should not be forced to pay a guy just b/c he is over the limits. Just b/c they have not been promoted/called up does not mean they automatically warrant having to be paid. If people really want to help solve the tanking issues help find GMs for open teams. I would rather have some kind of roster limit where you have to meet some min than this idea. Just my 0.02.
