If Brantley is healthy, the bats could be fun to watch! With Reyes injured, the Cards need Leake to be better than last season.

Well Leake was screwed by the defense. It just takes a quick look at his FIP to tell that. It was really the story of the year. But Diaz has improved, Wong makes some spectacular plays and Carpenter being at first will help as well. I'm hoping that can help Leake out. Lynn has been criminally underrated his whole career and Wacha just needs to stay healthy. I know that's a lot of "ifs" but I'm excited to see what these guys can do this year.
It all comes down to that rotation and how it all shakes out. But I'm cautiously optimistic.

Eric, the Phoenix area is fantastic! Be sure to get to the fields early so you can go back and watch the drills and minor league games. You see a smattering of the MLB guys getting work in and the viewing areas are like being at a LL game. Right on top of the players. Really fun enviornment. This will be the first year in the last 5 I haven't made it out there. Too much kid baseball in my life to take a weekend off.

I grew up in New Jersey, but didn't become a Mets fan until they traded Dickey for Syndergaard, D'Arnaud and Bucerra. I was a White Sox fan as a kid because Frank Thomas was hands down my favorite player. After years of being a bigger NFL and NBA fan, fantasy got me back into baseball big time. I became enamored with the business side of the game and could not stand the decisions that were being made in Chicago. When the Mets made that trade I said to myself there's no better time than now to switch Ultimately, I just love the game. Baseball fills up the large majority of my free time. A good chunk of that is researching prospects in order to find good buys in the baseball card world. I was bouncing around from seasonal job to season job for a few years and found that buying and selling baseball cards was a good way to pass the time and make a few bucks when I was in between jobs. Now that I have a full-time gig, I find myself buying more baseball cards than selling. Whoops.

My son wore #35, from little league - through high school. He has many Frank Thomas cards, to this date. I could not believe big Frank's mansion!

Big Hurt was probably may favorite non-BoSox player growing up. Nomar Garciaparra was my favorite by a large margin.

When I was in high school I tried to change my stance to that of Frank Thomas, spent an entire night in the batting cages working on it. Hit great there, not so much in game

The guy was a complete natural. Look at this swing. His back foot isn't even on the ground when he makes contact. How this ball goes anywhere is beyond me, let alone into the second deck.
