Free Agency:
Free Agent Bidding
You may bid on any player. If you have the high bid for 24 hours, then you win that player. ALL BIDS ARE BINDING, so if you bid, you'd better be prepared to pay. Additionally, the winning bid is the highest total value of the contract. The minimum bid for any free agent is 500K per year. All bids must raise the total value of the contract by at least $100,000. Four (4) years is the max years allowed.
Valid Bids:
Years @ Money = Total Value
EX: 4-Yrs @ 500,000 = $2 Mil
Invalid
Years @ Money
EX: 1-Yr @ 500,000
CLARIFICATION as of 2-28-2012 You are NOT to bid against yourself. That is, if you are near winning a bid but decide you add more years with less money, that is NOT allowed.
Players who are 35 years old or older on opening day will be limited to 2-year only contracts.
Free Agent signees must be on your Opening Day 26-man roster or go through the normal waiver process, and may not be traded before Opening Day.
Correct Format: Years @ Money = Total Value (Example: 3-Yrs @ $500,000 = $1.5 Mil); if not formatted this way it will be deemed INVALID.
RETRACTING BIDS
You have 15 minutes to retract a bid, any bid that is valid for 15 minutes is a valid bid. To retract a bid you must QUOTE your bid and state retracted. DO NOT EDIT your bid you must QUOTE IT.
If you are caught removing (deleting a post of a bid) you will be subject to removal of the league or receive a harsh penalty...
This is a no cheating league and deleting the post with a bid in it, is considered cheating...
You MAY NOT bid more than you have in CAP SPACE. If you do so there will be a penalty. This is a form of cheating and will not be tolerated. First offense will be some type of penalty repeatedly doing so could lead to removal from league for failure to follow rules.
