Welcome Sully! In the future, a brief explanation to the reasoning behind your trade, would help in our review.
Lots of bodies, dollars, and contracts, flying around in this cross-town trade! Here is what I see; - The Cubs get a Cubs player - per their posted trade-needs (Heyward). - The Cubs gain a re-sign slot, but take on a couple of million, in return (36mil vs 32mil). - Main pieces; Cubs = Heyward, Gurriel, Pineida, Cashner. Sox = Ryu, Braun, Duffy, Iglesias. - Contracts on both sides, range from 2019 to 2021. - The Sox will not be able to re-sign anyone this year, as they will have 4 active resigns, after this trade. - A little confusing, but a balanced deal, overall.
Approval #1. David

Ok thanks for the guidance David.
I am looking to acquire productive Cubs and also gain some Pitching. I have an excess of positon players due to recent promotions of Torres and Winker and I have Jimenez on the way so I can part with older expensive OF options to get some Pitching in return.
White Sox will still have an open Resign slot I believe because they are giving one resign and getting 2. They only have one other in Castro.
Thanks!

Cubs wanted a Chicago Cubs player and I had Jason Heyward, who I wanted to move. I wanted Kemp for 2 years in the bandbox at Cincinnati. Leake and Pineda are a push (depending on injuries). I wanted Ryu and was willing to part with the upside of Cashner for a resurgence of Ryu. We went through several reiterations before we completed this deal. The balance was just essentially swapping unneeded players for positions, length of time and/or money we needed. I still have a resign available as I traded 1 and received 2.

I'm not ignoring this trade as of now just a lot to think about for me so I'm withholding my vote until I get a chance to look deeper. Thanks for the explanations though, that helps a lot.

FYI On that resign sheet Jorge Soler is listed as a resign under Milwaukee but he was traded to Chicago Cubs last year.
