Mariners Trade:Joey Gerber (prospect) Austin Voth (prospect) 12.1 ML innings Tigers Trade:Melky Cabrera $3.5M (2019) Rationale here is that I am very competitive so far this year with my band of misfits but have no depth on my bench and no one in my Minors that looks anywhere close to coming up. Tigers was interesting in dealing from their depth and Melky has been hitting so far this year. A little concerned about him losing his spot but I just need Warm Bodies at this point. Giving up Gerber who is a solid prospect with closer potential but I have a ton of relievers in my system so I feel good about that and Voth a former top prospect who is older but could still hit somewhere and contribute if he ever gets more than a cup of coffee. A classic trade of future depth for a win now piece. How they were aquired: Gerber was an 8th round choice of the Mariners in 2018 www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=gerber000joeVoth was a FYPD selection of the Mariners here in 2013 bigs.freeforums.net/thread/39/2013-fypd-draftMelky was a FA signing of the Tigers bigs.freeforums.net/thread/3575/melky-cabrera-500-2019-tigers

Thansk for posting it. Yes Tigers accept.
With Mac Williamson's promotion we have a good amount of outfield depth (although I have now jinxed it and expect an injury any moment) and I wanted Gerber for his closer potential. I find saves the hardest to come by in the league so willing to move a .300 hitter to acquire a potential future closer. Always appreciate an easy back and forth to get a deal done.
