OF Ryan Braun - www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/braunry02.shtmlLast Contract: $745,000 (2015) First Offer: 4 years @ $8,000,000 = $32,000,000 $8,000,000 (2016 NTC) (2019) Resign Buying his age 32-35 years. Braun has not been a .300+/ 30+ HR guy in 4 years, basically since Prince Fielder left. Now he is part of a rebuilding team with nobody hitting around him. On the injury risk front, he is coming off consecutive offseason surgeries, (thumb and back). If I can get four healthy, drug free seasons of what he did last year; .285/20-25 HR/80-90 RBI in his mid-thirties, I’d be thrilled. Comparable resign contracts / production / age: Hunter Pence (age 32) $8,000,000 www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/pencehu01.shtmland to a lesser extent… Alex Gordon (age 31) $7,250,000 www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/gordoal01.shtmlAdam Jones (age 29) $8,000,000 www.baseball-reference.com/players/j/jonesad01.shtml

Thanks Brewers for posting the comps in your offer. I can't even begin to tell you how much easier it makes these re-signs go. It is so hard to judge and predict a player's value going forward. My main goal on these is to give all similar players essentially the same type contract out of fairness not only to that team but the ones before them as well.
