The best comp to Jake Arrieta is the Zack Greinke signing in 2014. However, I am placing Arrieta slightly below Greinke, because of Arrieta's past with Baltimore. Arrieta's offer from me is:
4 years @ $11,750,000(2016 NTC)(2019)

Veto #1.
I'd be happy if the offer was lower. We'll have to see what the others think but wouldn't want you overpaying here. These pitchers with almost just one year track records of great success are frightening to me. lol. (See Carresco) Even though Arrieta did win the Cy Young award last year, RA Dickey won it in 2012 and has been average ever since.

Please look at the resign bid for Madison Bumgardner, it will show contacts for Shields and Kershaw. I think we usually have to veto based on a contract being to low, but this one is a bit to high. Veto 2-0
I will change my vote, I think it is a little high but with Carrasco being 9M and Bum being 12.75M I will approve Arrietta.
Approved.

Approve (1-2), honestly I think this is about right. Maybe a bit high, but I was thinking 11.5 before he was even posted. I currently have him as the #6 SP on my big board.

Approval 3
I think he could be paid a little more but this is close enough. Arrieta is on the verge of a nice run in Chicago and is a different pitcher than the one in Baltimore. Not many innings pitched at 29, this is a hell of a deal.
