Nelson Cruz $6,000,000 (2016 NTC) (2018)
I realize that Cruz is coming off a very good year, but at age 35 I can't see him doing anything other than degrade. Well, that or get banned for PED's. He's coming of a contract that paid him $8,000,000 a year and one would believe the job security carries a premium.
There's nothing comparable out there due to the fact that no one gives 35 year old bats multi million dollar deals.

True on that. But with Cruz coming off of 40hr 108rbi & 44hr 93rbi the last 2 seasons and spending 72 of his 152 games last year at DH, I view him now as becoming more of the David Ortiz type. The DH position certainly reduces the injury risk. Also a similar DH like Ortiz has been productive last year in his age 39 season. Could easily talk abut PEDS with both also. I think the same 8M dollar contract for 3 years would be ok. Ortiz here wasn't re-signed but netted a 9.3M free agent deal after his age 36 season. With Cruz still being OF eligible, in free agency, he'd be very costly. A re-sign now at 8M or so will look great in a couple of weeks.

Veto #2 I am not clear what your contract offer is unless it is 8M for 1 year. You do not have a 2016 roster with 2016 numbers, please update before as soon as possible.
I understand the age, but I am not sure he knows how old he is as he is not acting his age. I probably would not give any contract over 3 years but I would roster him if I had the chance and for some reason Seattle signed him through 2018 for 14M a year.

OP edited here as well. Again, contract details were in subject and get deleted.

I am going to veto I do not believe his stats show that he should take a pay cut for a 3-yr deal.
