Nelson Cruz $7,000,000 (2016 NTC) (2018)
I increased my offer by a $1 million per year. Heyward just got $7.5 million and I expect that to be a discount come 2018. However, with Cruz's deal I have no doubt it will be a bad contract the last year. For that reason I'm offering Cruz slightly less than Heyward.
Cruz is 35 years old (36 in July). Prior to the 2014 season his numbers were good, but not great. Yes, his past two season have been solid, but if history serves correct there's no where for his numbers to go but down.

Well I will go first then, you are offering a 3 year contract to Cruz paying 250,000 more than Jorge Solare don't you see the problem? To me Cruz will still put up numbers over the next 3 years that will require a contract greater than 9M Veto #1

Veto 2
he hit 44 homers last year, with a .369 obp which means hes not just up there swinging for the fences. Plus he gives you runs, average, obp, and rbi's so its not like he's Albert Pujols with 30 plus homers and nothing else. I agree he is old but only two years more than Miggy so im looking for at least $10-11 million a year.

I am sticking with what I said in last attempt I do not believe he deserves a pay decrease. I am willing to approve $8 mil that he made previously.
Others are saying they want $9 mil or even $10-$11 mil. I would suggest talking to them before you post your 3rd attempt because that is your final attempt if its rejected Nelson Cruz goes to free agency.

FWIW 8 would be a floor for me, 9 seems reasonable.
