Yankees wish to resign Robinson Cano - $11.5M (2020) resign
Old Salary 2B Robinson Cano - $14.5M (2017) resign
Robinson Cano has a Major league contract through 2023, not sure if he will still be able to walk much less play but right now he is still a very good player. Not the best at the position now but still one of the best. He is 35 years old and I plan on resigning him for 3 years. His power declined a little bit last year but his core numbers still make him competitive in the position.
Jason Kipnis, Dee Gordon and Pedroia were resigned last year at 8M and Altuve at 15M. Based on last years resigns I will offer Robinson Cano a 3 year contract at 11.5M.
YEAR GP HR RBI BB AVG 2015 156 21 79 43 .287 2016 161 39 103 47 .298 2017 150 23 97 49 .280

Cano is over 35 years old but he's still consistently producing. I used the same logic on Adrian Gonzalez last year and that didn't work, but nothing in his secondary stats indicate a rapid decline is coming. I would maybe go a little lower but at 3 years this feels about right.

I agree with Mets. I may go a tad lower, but not by much.
