Orioles trade:
C Salvador Pérez - 7,000,000 (2017 NTC) (2020) ((Re-Sign)) SP Blake Snell - $300,000 (2021) RP Josh Hader - $300,000 (2023)
Giants trade:
OF Jarred Kelenic - prospect (2018 FYPD 1.04) OF Kyle Stowers - prospect (2019 FYPD 3.16) SP Hunter Greene - prospect (2017 FYPD 1.02) SP Adam Kloffenstein - prospect (2018 FYPD 3.04) 2020 FYPD 3rd Rd Pick
The gist is I'm paying through the teeth but ready to have some fun this year. The three players I'm acquiring are high end performers at positions of need. The 4 prospects I'm giving up are high pedigree, high upside kids (plus a draft pick) who I hate to lose but that's the only way to acquire what I'm getting back. Nervous I'm giving up too much but at end of the day, I should feel a little uncomfortable with a deal of this magnitude if it's a give and take. Thanks for working with me, Kenny. Good luck with the kids.

Orioles accept.
Tough giving up these guys but they wouldn't have as much value to me once I'm ready to compete & love the value coming back to me. The deal fits with what our teams are trying to do. I'm willing to wait while the prospects develop (into stars hopefully).

All players/ownership check out.
Well alright then, this is a big deal. Giants fill their need at C with a top 10 guy and enhance an already impressive pitching staff with one of the best starters and relievers in the game. The Giants are now instantly a favorite in the NL. New Orioles GM gets to leverage players he inherited for 2 top 100 prospects in Kelenic and Greene and 2 prospects who should succeed plus a pick. Based on current knowledge of all players, there is equal value here and it supports both franchises' success so...

I would have a lot of trouble making this deal from either side, which probably means it's pretty fair. I'm not the biggest Sal Perez fan, fantasy-wise and would love to see a better third piece. But I also understand Giants ran out Lucroy and Weiters most of last year so he should be a pretty significant upgrade for them. So the difference is small enough that if Giants wants to do it I understand.
