Brewers trade:
2B/3B: Tommy La Stella - 750,000 (2020) Dodgers trade:
RP: Dennis Santana - Dodgers Prospect 2B: Devin Mann - Dodgers Prospect La Stella’s All-Star season last year ended with a freak foul tip injury. But he shined when finally given a full-time role. However, with super-utility David Fletcher coming into his own coupled with the signing of Rendon, there is a risk of AB’s being taken away. (As is always the case with Joe Maddon anyways.) In an odd bit of symmetry, Rendon going to Orange County opens the door for my prospect Carter Kieboom to take over the 3B duties in Washington DC; making La Stella a bit expendable. We agreed a couple middle-tier prospects was fair; given La Stella’s numbers and position versatility. Santana will be in the bullpen this year, but scouts think he could still be a starter. Mann is a smidge old but looks like an A ball version of La Stella. Players are ranked 10 & 18 respectively on MLB Pipeline. How acquired:
La Stella - trade from Cubs in 2018 bigs.freeforums.net/thread/3523/brewers-cubs-trade-approvec-3Santana – Int’l signing by Los Angeles in March 2013. www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?player_id=642701#/career/R/pitching/2019/ALLMann - Drafted by the Los Angeles in the 5th round of 2018 MLB June Draft www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=mann--000dev

Dodgers accept.
There's a hole at 3rd that I need to fill. We weren't that far from winning it all last year and while I'm not sure LaStella is the piece that puts us over the top, I'm more than willing to take a flier on him. Best case scenario he stays healthy and performs just as well as he did last year. I'm a little concerned that Rendon's arrival makes it tough for the Angels to find LaStella ABs, but that's the risk we take.

La Stella if healthy and productive likely gets the plus side of a platoon with Fletcher at 2B. The bigger concern is that Maddon didn't really take to La Stella in Chicago when they were together.
