Twins agree to trade: 3B Miguel Sano $300,000 (2020)
For
Phillies: Blake Walston, LHP ARI (drafted in FYPD 2019 round 2 by Phillies) Ethan Lindow, RHP PHI (drafted by the Phillies 2017, 5th round) 2020 FYPD pick 1.7
Phillies to agree.
I hate giving up Sano. I would re-sign him but there are other players I am looking to re-sign. I really like the potential of the two pitching prospects in this deal plus getting 1.7 should net a front line player to help rebuild my minors. All of these prospects come with a risk over Sano but I am willing to take the risk. Thanks Phillies, I enjoyed the back and forth negotiating.

Phillies accept - I have always liked Sano and I plan on resigning him. It always hurts to give up prospects but i feel I will have a competitive team this year, and trying to see how far I can take. Also, I am hoping forecast are true and he ends up being 1b eligible. I only saw 2 front line 1B in Free Agency, and there is a lot of cap space on teams that need 1B, so I feel they will be very expensive.
Good luck Twins and yes negotiations were fun

This is a weak return for a 26 yo who just hit 34 bombs with a .923 OPS.
No from me.

Just curious if it would make a difference if Nick Madrigal (CHW) depending on services but top 50 prospect or Jordan Adell (LAA) depending on service but top 10 prospect were included in this trade. Both, of them were picked in the 7th position in the FYPD (2017,2018). So the FYPD 1.7.20 has the potential to be an. Elite prospect.

The pick is the best part of the return, I think the other prospects are a little lackluster considering Sano's immense value. He's putting it all together, was resigned to a 3 year deal, and is hitting in one of the best lineups in baseball. That's worth at least a top prospect which Walston and Lindow are not. I usually dont vote no when both GMs are clearly on board but this is out of balance.

Depends on which prospect list you follow. I have seen Walston as high as #6, fangraphs has him #9 on a deep ARI farm system. Lindow was the Phillies minor league pitcher of the year and most have him just outside the top 10.

See I would say that Phillies are giving up too much here but I don't believe in Sano at all. The man has never played more than 116 games and we play in a league where replacement value is really hard to find. Not to mention when your only value is Home runs and everyone is hitting home runs that gives you less value. Sano still had fewer than 80 runs and RBI and that was in his best season. I think if the pick wasn't so high I would be more inclined to see this as fair. However the simple fact that I see the Value one way and Mets sees it the other I guess shows that this could be the same way for Phillies and Twins. Walston is really young and a risk reward guy, Lindow is a pitcher not a thrower without amazing stuff but hasn't pitched above A ball. This definitely has the potential to be a steal for the Twins in my opinion but I suppose I'll begrudgingly approve it.
