Mariners Trade:Juan Then (prospect) 2021 DD Pick (SEA) Orioles Trade:Daniel Bard $500K (2021) Rationale:Injuries really hurt me in the short season last year but two seasons removed from a WS appearance I still think this is my window. I have to bet on Diaz being good again this year and getting saves but I was targeting one more guy in FA, those contracts all got to a point I wasn't comfortable with but with Bard on the block for a one year deal I decided to head that direction. I don't necessarily trust the ratios or the health but at this point he should get saves and that's what I need. I LOVE Juan Then, really excited for what he could eventually be but he won't hit the majors until probably 2023 and I am still fairly strong in the pitching department so I'm ok moving him. Orioles wanted a little extra insurance so I added the DD pick to help it feel more balanced for him. Thanks very much for the easy talks Kenny, always fun wheeling and dealing! How they were acquired:
Then is weird because he was originally signed by SEA as an IFA in 2016 but then traded away and reaquired. This is the best place I could find that shows he was originally signed by SEA but on Fangraphs it shows that SEA was his original team as well. Bard was signed by Orioles last year as a FA

Orioles accept.
Been shopping Bard since the trade deadline of last year. Think he'll retain the closers role in COL so Tyler is getting great value there. Then improves my pitching prospect pool and I'm hoping he reaches his potential of a mid-rotation starter.
